Effect: Spectator chooses a card, and the magician folds it into 4ths. The magician hands the card back to the spectator for signing and inspection. The magician then tears the card along the folds already made and puts two pieces in his pocket. The remaining two pieces are simply touched together, and they fuse back together. The Magician then removes the third piece from his pocket, and touches it to its rightful place. It also, fuses to the other card. Finally, the magician removes the fourth piece, and restores it in an equally amazing in-your-face way. The card is inspectable before and after the effect.
Ease of use/handling: 10 being Guru level, this trick is a 6 and an 8. Average magicians will be able to perform it, but there is an advanced (optional) handling of the effect on the DVD that can give a fun challange to more experienced card handlers.
Spectators Response: Dumbfounded. This is just about as hard-hitting as a card effect can get. 9 out of 10. When you hand out that SIGNED card at the end.... man, it is beautiful.
Other Good Points: Spec's have a piece of magic to take home with them at the end of the effect. If you want to use patter, you can (Talk about shaman healers.), but I stay completely silent. It needs no patter to be effective and amazing.
Other Bad Points: Angles. Nobody on your immediate Left. All other angles are covered on the DVD with simple hand adjustments.
People like to complain that you are not clean at the end of the effect.... Yes you are. Its so easy to get clean at the end, don't even worry about it.
Overall: Use this as your Torn and restored card routine. 9 out of 10, losing 1 point for angles.
