I am looking for any information or material that may pertain to a very clever bit of magical theater that went by the trade name "Lite- Touch". The main effect is a spectators chosen card is revealed in the flame of a match (There may be another effect you can do with a matchbook but I'm unclear what it is). I believe this is an effect by Jose de la Torre. I saw it in advertisement in the pages of an early to mid seventies copy of the magic journal, "The Linking Ring". It struck me as being similar, if my memory serves, to an effect that used a lead pencil to draw on the head of a match. Striking the match the heat of the flame would be the catalyst for a chemical reaction. After a couple of seconds the lead would begin to turn a lighter color as the match head burned black and would reveal a chosen initial, number or card.
Any information? "From whence 'tis nourish'd. The fire i' th' flint Shows not till it be struck: our gentle flame"
Shakespeare, Timon of Athens. Act i, sc. 1, I. 30
